The hot sauce
illustration was done as a sample of computer art. My intention
was to illustrate how hot a web site could be. At the time
our crew were kicking out one hot site after another. (dotcom
days) I think good art can enhance a web site.
What makes this interesting is when I got a letter from the Tabasco Company
claiming I was trying to make my fame and fortune off their good name.
And a good name it is. BUT.
In illustrating my point about hot sites. I used a common ordinary household
product found in many kitchens that represent hot. While there are many
sauces that are considered much much hotter. I wanted something more
common. The actual "hot" is really inferred by the down button
found to the left. To illustrate cold I may have picked a ordinary pop
bottle. To protect the innocent I didn't add any reference to any company,
product name or contents. Also, this is not a photograph, it is a drawing.
The important point I want to make here is that this was never meant
to be anything other than some snappy art. It is not for sale or will
it ever be. I DID get permission from the guy in the back ground.
My suggestion to the Tabasco people is to "Simmer Down" or"Chill".
They are welcome to use my "Idea" if they want. No charge.
